About EUPASMOS

About EUPASMOS

The European Union Physical Activity and Sport Monitoring System (EUPASMOS) is a collaborative initiative aimed at establishing a harmonized monitoring system for physical activity and sport participation across EU Member States. By developing an integrated and shared methodological process, EUPASMOS seeks to provide comparable, valid, and reliable data on physical activity and sport participation. This data supports Member States, the European Commission, the World Health Organization (WHO), and other relevant organizations in designing, promoting, implementing, and monitoring effective, evidence-based health-enhancing physical activity (HEPA) policies and strategies across Europe and various governance levels.

Our Mission

EUPASMOS is dedicated to understanding physical activity and sport participation patterns within the EU. By implementing a standardized monitoring system, we aim to facilitate the development of effective HEPA policies that promote healthier lifestyles among European citizens.

Our Objectives

  • Harmonization: Develop a unified methodological approach for monitoring physical activity and sport participation across EU Member States.
  • Data Collection: Gather comparable, valid, and reliable data to inform policy-making and strategy development.
  • Policy Support: Assist in the creation and implementation of evidence-based HEPA policies and strategies at both national and European levels.
  • Collaboration: Foster cooperation among EU Member States, the European Commission, WHO, and other relevant organizations to promote physical activity and sport participation.

Our Partners

EUPASMOS brings together a diverse group of partners from various EU Member States, each contributing their expertise to the project. Our partners include governmental bodies, academic institutions, and public health organizations dedicated to promoting physical activity and sport participation.

Our Work

Through collaborative research, data collection, and analysis, EUPASMOS develops tools and resources to support the monitoring and promotion of physical activity and sport participation. Our work includes organizing events, publishing research findings, and providing toolkits to assist policymakers and practitioners in implementing effective HEPA strategies.
